Something new in the works for 7th street are trash receptacles. In a continuation of the Seventh Street Development Committee and the city of Allentown's efforts to keep Allentown beautiful and litter free, new trash receptacles are being purchased for the business cooridor.
We are happy to announce that 7th street has received a grant from Waste Management and Keep America Beautiful. Additional funding has come from the 4 C's Neighborhood Association, Weed and Seed and the City of Allentown. Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski and manager of Allentown's Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste Ann Saurman accepted a $5,000 grant check from Waste Management and Keep America Beautiful.
The receptacles that were selected are full-sized, in a historic black-emerald color that will fit into the new streetscape and have a look and feel of historic Allentown.
Old Allentown will also be purchasing 26 of these trash receptacles which is offer a continuity of design through our designated Elm and Main Street Communities.
